Early Footage of the Next Soccer Star!

Graydon had two games this weekend, and the boys started to get the hang-of-things during the second game. It is so funny to watch their faces and all of their antics. At one point, the crew that wasn't on the field were fighting over a water bottle and then hiding under the player's bench "to get away from the Texas sun."

Graydon takes the ball to the goal!

He takes a tumble but keeps running! (while he practices his dance moves!)

All About Soccer!

Graydon had his first soccer game on Saturday! Team Dragon definitely showed up for the game...from scoring goals and talking smack to socializing on the field (with the referee & the players) and running the wrong way, you can tell they had great time!! Simon says...touch your knees!

Happy Grandparents Day!

What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humor, comfort, lessons in life. And, most importantly, cookies. - Rudolph Giuliani
Nobody can do for little children what grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children. - Alex Haley Grandparents, like heroes, are as necessary to a child's growth as vitamins. - Joyce Allston We are sending much love to all of our parents, grand-parents, and great-grandparents on Grandparents Day 2009! Thanks for all the cookies! :-) We love you!

New Beginnings

Graydon finished his first week of PS-4 at a brand new school this week and says he loved every minute of it! If you asked two weeks ago, he would have told you that he was NOT going to school. But, with a new school, new friends, new routine, & new teachers...he did awesome & we are so proud of him! After a hug & a kiss bye each day, he darted off to tell "Fireman" (the class fish) good morning! I truly believe that Fireman saved both of our days...his name could not be more fitting!
All set to go, showing off his new Star Wars lunch box!
He asked me to please stop taking pictures - he was worried that he would be late! We'll see how long that will last!?!
He is checking out all the other kiddos that are headed into school, realizing everyone else is doing the same thing! Pre-school peer pressure is kicking into high gear! Glad we made it through this week! We'll see what the next one brings!

Summer Fun in Destin

Hunting for sandcrabs was the highlight of each evening! On the 2nd night, Graydon finally worked up the nerve to hold one in his hand! As you can see, he was keeping his eyes on the pinchers and loving every bit of it!
As you will soon learn, everything in the Thompson family is all about our "timing." And if you know us well, you know that to be true. So, with that being said, we rolled into Destin just as the first Tropical Storm rolled into the Gulf of Mexico. Thankfully, the storm moved in and out quickly. Here's a pic of Mike and Graydon jumping the waves before it moves ashore...pretty cool pic!
Graydon is looking for treasures - shells, crabs, and anything else he can take home from the beach!
Toes in the sand!
